Southern Co-op has been named as a finalist of The Business Magazine’s latest Solent 250 listing awards.

The Solent 250 is an annual listing of the top privately-owned businesses (by annual sales turnover) that are based in the Solent region – defined as most of Hampshire (south of Basingstoke) and parts of Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex.

To be included in the listing, businesses need to be independent, privately-owned companies, headquartered in the region.

The listing is compiled by The Business Magazine and sponsored by HSBC UK, Irwin Mitchell, RSM UK and CMA Recruitment Group.

Finalists for the Climate & Sustainability Award are Southern Co-op, Barfoots of Botley, Hendy Group, and TJ Waste & Recycling.

Managing director of The Business Magazine, Richard Thompson, said: “The judges were able to identify some cracking companies for the Solent 250 awards this year. These companies have shown exceptional capability, growth, leadership and vision. The past 12 months have been difficult for all businesses in the South, and these companies have shone through. We’re very excited to announce the winners on the 29th March. “

A private dinner and award ceremony at the Harbour Hotel & Spa in Southampton will be held on March 29, 2022, to celebrate the special achievements of those companies listed.
