Colouring success in Andover

6th November 2020

More than 150 entries were made into this year’s Halloween colouring competition at The Co-operative Food – East Anton Farm Road, in Andover.

The Southern Co-op store held the colouring competition in the run up to Halloween to help with families who were feeling the pressure of 2020 and to add a bit of normality back in their lives.

Richard Bundy, Store Manager, said: “Last year when we ran the competition, we had approximately 50 entrants but this year the local community got heavily involved by bringing in 157 pictures to be exact.

“We asked our local YMCA centre in Saxon Heights if someone would kindly draw the winners on Friday 30 October. The winners were all contacted and prizes of sweets given out on the 31st.”

The Halloween colouring competition was broken into four age categories – ages one to four years, ages five to nine years, ages 10 to 15 years, and ages 16+.

The store is currently collecting food donations for the local YMCA that make food parcels for the local community.

Cash donations can also be made to the store’s community partner Augusta Park Community Centre in collection pots by the till points.
