Local jobs created in New Malden as new Starbucks® opens
A new Starbucks® store has opened at 125-127 High Street, New Malden, yesterday on Wednesday 24 November.
Operated by Starbucks® licensee, Cobra Coffee, which is part of a regional co-operative, the store has already created 10 new jobs in the local area.
This will be the only Starbucks® in New Malden and Cobra Coffee’s 50th Starbucks® store.
To celebrate the opening, they will be offering 50 lucky customers complimentary reusable cups every day for the first week.
Store Manager, Léo Costa, started his profession as a barista eight years ago and has worked his way up the career ladder.
Léo said: “Our new team is excited to be working together to give New Malden a full Starbucks experience and become part of the local community.
“I have had a passion for coffee from a young age so can’t wait to share this with our new customers. We are all looking forward to welcoming lots of new faces in store soon.”
Customers are invited to enjoy one of the new Starbucks® festive drinks on the menu, including the Caramel Waffle Latte and the Fudge Brownie Hot Chocolate. Alternatively, they can sample new food items such as the Very Merry Beyond Meat® Sandwich and Blitzen’s Blue Cheese and Chutney Toastie.
The High Street store comes complete with comfortable seating. Or for those who prefer to stay at home, delivery will be fully available within a month of opening to all customers via Uber Eats.
The team is closely following the latest guidance from both the Government and health authorities to keep everyone safe.
Starbucks® is committed to 100% ethically sourced coffee in partnership with Conservation International. The cornerstone of our ethical sourcing approach to buying coffee is Coffee and Farmer Equity (C.A.F.E.) Practices.
Starbucks® offers a 25p discount to all customers who bring a reusable cup when purchasing a drink.
The new store will be open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Saturday, and from 8:00am to 5:00pm Sunday.
