Coffee co-operative branches out to new locations in 2020

15th December 2020

A local coffee franchisee, with a co-operative heart, is celebrating the opening of its 30th store.

Cobra Coffee, which runs a number of Starbucks stores across the south of England, opened its newest store on 4 December in Bournemouth with a contemporary nautical design, inspired by its coastal surroundings.

With its 30th store now up-and-running, Cobra Coffee, which is part of regional co-operative, Southern Co-op, is already planning further openings to expand its store portfolio across the region over the next three years.

Gwyn Kennett, Head of Operations at Cobra Coffee, said: “Since the company became part of Southern Co-op in 2018, we have opened a number of new stores, growing from 19 to 30 during 2020.

“It has been a challenging year making it even more important that each store we open becomes a real part of the local community.

“We also provide employment to local residents and are pleased to have more than 300 people on board plus the hundreds more colleagues we have as part of Southern Co-op.”

Customers are invited to enjoy Starbucks Holiday menu, with returning festive favourites the Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte, and Eggnog Latte available. Customers can also try Starbucks new items this season, including the Truffle Deluxe Hot Chocolate and The One with the Gravy Layer Sandwich.

Starbucks coffee is 99% ethically sourced and accredited by Conservation International under the C.A.F.E. Practices programme. Starbucks offers a 25p discount to all customers who bring a reusable cup when purchasing a drink.

The 30 Starbucks stores, run by Cobra Coffee, are a combination of high street, drive-thru and drive-to locations based in Brighton, Crawley, Hove, Worthing, Dorking, Horsham, Reigate, Wokingham, Ashford, Canterbury, Eastbourne, Folkestone, Isle of Sheppey, Maidstone, Strood, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Bath, Bristol, Southampton, and Bournemouth.
