1. This competition (the “Competition”) is open to residents of the UK, aged 18 and over. Proof of identity and age may be required. It is run by The Southern Co-operative Limited (“Southern Co-op”).
  2. The competition runs from 9 September 2024 to 22 September 2024 inclusive. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be eligible to take part in the Competition.
  3. By participating in the Competition, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and the specific details of the Competition are set out in the social media posts on Facebook, posters in store and the competition holding page on our website.
  4. You may enter the Competition via the competition holding page on Southern Co-op’s website by answering two questions via the following link – https://southern.coop/fairtrade-fortnight-giveaway. You will be required to insert your name and email address to enter the competition which enables us to contact you should you be a winner.
  5. Our Facebook is located at https://www.facebook.com/southerncoop/ The in-store posters will contain a QR code which once scanned will take you to the competition holding page detailed above.
  6. You may only enter the Competition once and any duplicate entries will be eliminated.
  7. There are three separate prizes of one hamper containing a selection of fair trade products to be won (“Prize”). The exact selection and amount of products contained in the hamper is completely at the discretion of Southern Co-op.
  8. Any photos of products used in the social media posts, posters or the competition holding page are for illustrative purposes only and may not be included in the actual prize but will give a reasonable indication of the prize on offer.
  9. The winner will be picked at random from all the valid correct entries and will be contacted by 4 October 2024. The Prize will be delivered to the winners’ local Southern Co-op store. Further instructions will be contained in the emails we send to the winners.
  10. No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition, but a simple task must be completed.
  11. Southern Co-op accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of submission of the entry is not proof of receipt by Southern Co-op.
  12. Southern Co-op reserves the right to replace the Prize with an alternative, if necessary, at Southern Co-op’s discretion.
  13. The Prize includes no costs associated with the Prize and not specifically included in the Prize, for example, travel or other expenses.
  14. The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash or other Prizes.
  15. The Competition is open to employees of Southern Co-op with the exception of any employees (and their families), their agents or related third parties who are directly connected with the administration of the Competition.
  16. If a winner does not respond to Southern Co-op within 24 hours of being notified, then the winner’s entitlement to the Prize will be forfeited and Southern Co-op shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 24 hours or they will also forfeit their entitlement to the Prize). If a winner rejects their entitlement to the Prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these terms and conditions, the winner’s entitlement to the Prize will be forfeited and Southern Co-op shall be entitled to select another winner. Where applicable, the judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  17. The Prize will be delivered at Southern Co-op’s cost and the winner shall allow 28 days for delivery of the Prize. Southern Co-op accepts no responsibility for the Prize being lost, damaged or delayed in the post.
  18. Depending on the nature of the Competition, at Southern Co-op’s discretion, the surname and county of the winner will be provided up to a month after the closing date on receipt of a request received in a stamped addressed envelope to: The Southern Co-operative Limited FAO Southern Co-op, Social Media Co-ordinator, Sustainability and Communications Department 1000 Lakeside, Western Road, Portsmouth, PO6 3FE.
  19. The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the Competition and the winner shall participate in such activity on Southern Co-op’s reasonable request. The winner consents to the use by Southern Co-op, its related companies and any other person directly connected with the administration of the Competition for a reasonable time, of the winner’s images, photographs and names for publicity purposes (in any medium, including on the internet on any websites hosted by Southern Co-op, its related companies and such other person and in advertising, marketing or promotional material) without additional compensation or prior notice and in entering the Competition, all entrants consent to the same.

Southern Co-op accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition or accepting or use of the Prize. Southern Co-op further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the liability of Southern Co-op for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.
  22. Southern Co-op reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of Southern Co-op in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  23. Southern Co-op shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control.
  24. By participating in the Competition, entrants accept Facebook’s terms and conditions although it is acknowledged that the Competition is not sponsored or endorsed by, nor associated with Facebook. Entrants release Facebook from any and all liability arising out of or in connection with their entry in the Competition.
  25. The Competition will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and entrants to the Competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
