Question 1: Why do you think you would be a good director of Southern Co-op?
I’ve been a Director of Southern Co-op for seven years, and I continue to feel energised about where I can add value to the board. My business, commercial, and leadership experience, combined with a deep understanding of Southern Co-op and the co-operative movement puts me in a strong position to serve as an effective board director. I’m committed to co-operative values and actively champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, which is more vital than ever. I bring a balanced approach to board discussions, speaking up on important matters while remaining open-minded to different perspectives. As Chair of the Remuneration and Appointments Committee and an active member of the Governance and Membership Committee, I have played a crucial role in championing member interests and helping to shape the Society’s policies and direction.

Question 2: How do you demonstrate Southern Co-op’s values in your own life?
Working together for the benefit of our communities is deeply important to me. I play an active role in supporting Brighton Soup, a charity that hosts community engagement events to fund local projects and community initiatives. I have previously been an active member of the Girlguiding movement, as leader of 1st Hove Brownies for almost 8 years, and have supported young people in the community as a respite foster carer.

Question 3: Why do you want to be a director of Southern Co-op?

  • To help the Society move forward, addressing the challenges we face and seizing opportunities
  • To contribute to making a difference in our communities
